How to reach us and public transport schedules
We are located in the Mount Subasio park, on the road that leads to the Hermitage of the Prisons, approximately 700 metres from Porta Cappuccini. We have added photos to our descriptions to help you find your way. There are also useful links for public transport schedules.1BY CAR, CAMPER AND BUS
Insert “Viale Giovanni XXIII” in your navigator and keep going towards the “Eremo delle Carceri” “Monte Subasio” and “Camping”, do not insert “via Eremo delle Carceri” as navigators indicate another road.
From Florence – take exit Valdichiana and go towards Perugia and later towards Assisi (SS 75).
From Rome– take exit at Orte and go towards Perugia (E45) and later towards Assisi (SS 75).
When on the SS 75 get off at exit “S. Maria degli Angeli – Assisi”.
Go towards Assisi.
Take the circle road when you reach Assisi, it is the only big road that goes along the city walls. When you reach Parking “B” (which is on your left in your direction) keep going until you reach a roundabout with Unicredit Bank. Turn left at the roundabout (“Eremo delle Carceri” “Monte Subasio” and “Camping” are indicated) and keep going for another 300 metres. Then turn right following signals for “Eremo delle Carceri” and “Camping” (IMPORTANT: DO NOT GO TOWARDS GUALDO TADINO or PIAZZA MATTEOTTI because this road is closed to buses and big campers). Keep going uphill for another 1,5 km until you reach a narrow bend that goes by an archway (Porta Cappuccini, you must not go through the archway), and keep going uphill (directions for “Eremo delle Carceri” “Monte Subasio” and “Camping”) for another 700 metres and turn right when you reach the sign for “Camping Fontemaggio”, “Hotel Fontemaggio” and “Ristorante La Stalla”.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUS DRIVERS (AND LARGE CAMPERS) When you reach Parking “B” (which is on your left in your direction) keep going until you reach a roundabout with Unicredit Bank. Turn left at the roundabout (“Eremo delle Carceri” “Monte Subasio” and “Camping” are indicated) and keep going for another 300 metres. Then turn right following signals for “Eremo delle Carceri” and “Camping” (IMPORTANT: DO NOT GO TOWARDS GUALDO TADINO or PIAZZA MATTEOTTI because this road is closed to buses and big campers).
When you reach the crossroads that is 300 metres from the Unicredit Bank, you will find a no entry sign for buses, EXCEPT THOSE GOING TO THE FONTEMAGGIO CAMPING (AND THE LA STALLA RESTAURANT).
In other words, buses coming to our Complex may ignore the sign.

2BY TRAIN
From the Assisi train station (S. Maria degli Angeli) take the bus that goes to Assisi centre (Line C) and get off at the terminus (Piazza Matteotti).
Take the road towards the Eremo delle Carceri, and you will find us on the right after approximately 800 metres.
